Why Are You So Sure It Won't Work?

Why Are You So Sure It Won't Work?

Friday 10th November

Hello 👋

Ever find yourself at life’s crossroads, wondering which path to take, I want you to ask yourself these two questions.

  1. What Makes You So Sure You'll Succeed?

  2. What Makes You So Sure You'll Fail?

Often we can answer the first one very clearly.

Something like ‘well, I’m smart and I work hard, so I know I can do it’ or ‘I have seen proof it can work, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do!’

We can back our own argument.

But…

When anxiety clicks in, and we start to doubt ourselves, we get to the point where we can’t dismiss the second.

What makes you so sure you’ll fail?

Myself. That’s the only answer there is. Only I can be sure, I don’t make it.

It's about clarity.

When you ask yourself ‘what makes you so sure you'll succeed?,’ you're forced to look at your plan, your skills, and your drive.

It makes you lay down the roadmap of your success journey.

It's a confidence booster and a reality check, all wrapped in one.

Now, flip the script.

What makes you so sure you'll fail?

Where does your irrefutable doubt, come from?

Why do you believe, so much, it’s not possible?

Ask yourself these questions, and it will provide many more answers than the first.

This question isn't to push you into a pit of despair.

It's to challenge those lurking fears and doubts.

More often than not, you'll realize your reasons for potential failure are not as solid as they seem.

Maybe they're shadows of past experiences, overestimations of risks, or just plain old fear of the unknown.

When you confront these reasons head-on, you start dismantling them, piece by piece.

Let's Be Real

There are no guarantees in life. Other than you, will have to be accountable for you.

No one else.

Where you get to is down to you.

Ask yourself some tough questions, to find better answers.

Stay curious,

C
